Nottingham Trent Students Choose René House for Fundraising Project

A group of students from Nottingham Trent University, on a work placement with Impact People and Change, recently chose René House as their charity of choice - and we couldn't be more grateful.

As part of their work placement module with Impact People & Change, a lovely group of Nottingham Trent University students (studying Psychology & Criminology) were required to fundraise for a local charity. They decided to support René House and our work providing supported accommodation for adults transitioning out of homelessness across Nottinghamshire.

To raise funds, they organised and hosted a quiz night - bringing people together for an evening of questions, competition, and community.

For organisations like René House, community fundraising makes a real difference. We're a Community Interest Company, which means we reinvest everything back into our mission of providing quality supported accommodation and wraparound support for vulnerable adults.

The majority of our funding comes from housing benefit, which covers property management. But the support side of what we do? That's largely unfunded. The thousands of hours our team spends delivering one-to-one and group support, helping residents build life skills and work toward independence - that has to be funded through grants, donations, and fundraising efforts like this one.

When students choose to fundraise for René House, they're directly contributing to that support work. They're helping us continue showing up for residents every single day.

The quiz night has happened, but the fundraising continues. The students' GoFundMe page is still open for donations, and every contribution helps us continue our work. If you'd like to support their efforts, you can donate via their GoFundMe page: www.gofundme.com/f/the-homelessness-crisis-in-nottingham

A Huge Thank You

To Impact People and Change and the students who chose to support René House - thank you. Thank you for thinking of us, for putting time and effort into fundraising, and for caring about the work we do and the people we support.

Community support like this - from students, local businesses, individuals, and organisations - is what makes it possible for René House to keep doing what we do. Every fundraiser, every donation, every bit of awareness raised matters.

Last year, we housed 157 adults, delivered over 16,000 hours of support, and helped 56 residents move into independent tenancies. Support like yours makes that possible.

Thank you for choosing us 🖤
