With summer finally on the way, we're asking for garden furniture donations to create welcoming outdoor spaces at our supported accommodation properties. From tables and chairs to benches and sofas - anything that helps our residents make the most of the warmer months ahead.
The sunshine is finally making more regular appearances (well, some days at least!), and we're starting to think about how our residents can make the most of the warmer months ahead.
Having access to outdoor space isn't just a nice-to-have, it can make a genuine difference to mental wellbeing, especially for people who are rebuilding their lives after experiencing homelessness.
For many of our residents transitioning out of homelessness, having a place to sit outside, enjoy a cuppa in the sunshine, or just breathe some fresh air becomes an important part of establishing daily routines and finding moments of peace.
Outdoor spaces also create natural opportunities for residents to socialise and work with our support workers casually – whether that's over a summer BBQ or just chatting over morning coffee. These small interactions build community and combat the isolation that often comes with housing insecurity.
As we prepare our properties for summer, including our brand new Hucknall home, we've realised we're seriously lacking in garden furniture.
Here's what would make a huge difference:
We're big believers in sustainability, so if you're upgrading your garden setup this year or having a clear-out, why not give your old furniture a second life with us? Items that might no longer suit your space could transform one of our gardens into a proper outdoor living area.
And don't worry about delivery – we're more than happy to collect items from you if you're in Nottinghamshire!
If you have garden furniture to donate, please drop us a message through our contact form, send us a DM on social media, or email us at info@renehousecic.com
Your donation would make such a difference to our residents this summer, giving them the chance to fully enjoy their home, inside and out.
Thank you for considering supporting René House!
